Jefferson County High School is in its fifteenth year of existence. JCHS is located approximately halfway between Wrens and Louisville, Georgia on Highway 1 and has an approximate enrollment of 1000 students. It is the mission of Jefferson County High School to partner with the community in creating a learning culture that challenges, supports, and ensures the success of every child, every day. The motto "JCHS is a fountain of knowledge - don't leave thirsty" was established by a group of students during the fall of 2001. In 2006 the Jefferson County Board of Education adopted a county wide mission statement - "Jefferson County Schools - Six Schools, One Mission - Every Child, Every Day". The faculty and staff at JCHS believes in the 3 Rs - relationships, rigor and relevance which are supported by research-based best instructional practices. The principal of JCHS, Dr. Molly Howard, is the 2008 National High School Principal of the Year.
